A plantain tree has a number of uses. The leaf can be used as a dinner plate, the flower is used in some recipes, the outer covering of the trunk can be used a good binding and packing string; but the main use of the tree is the bunch of bananas it yields. All the trouble that is taken for planting and growing the plantain tree is for its bananas, not its leaves, bark or flowers.
