Did you read the story
“No Gratitude, No Grace”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 12th February 2009

Do good to others; avoid doing any harm. Doing good is the drug and avoiding harm is the regimen that must accompany the treatment. This is the cure for the disease of suffering from joy and grief, honor and dishonor, prosperity and adversity, and the dual throng that bothers man and deprives him of equanimity.

- Divine Discourse, Jul 24, 1964.

Be good, See good, Do good.  This is the way to God. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 11th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

What are the signposts for us to know we are achieving realization?  Swami explains to us today.

Did you read the section
“Love is a Forgetting ”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 11th February 2009

The ladder must be as tall as the height to which you want to climb, is it not?  So too, your spiritual practice to curb the mind must be carried on step by step, until Realization is gained.  The rice in the pot must be well boiled and become soft and sweet.  Until then, the fire must burn.  In the vessel of 'body', with the water, that is to say the 'senses', boil the mind and make it soft.  The fire is Saadhana (Spiritual practice).  Keep it burning bright, this life will become Divine.

-Divine Discourse, Vol 4, Ch 19, May 17, 1965.

There is no austerity in this world higher than fortitude. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 10th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

What is the secret of attaining wisdom? Swami explains today.

Did you read the section
“In Quest of Infinity - 23”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 10th February 2009

When  you scatter seeds on the surface of the soil, they do not germinate. You have to keep them inside the soil. So too, knowledge, if it is scattered on the surface, will not germinate; it will not grow into a tree and yield the fruit of wisdom. Plant it in your heart, water the plant with divine love, manure it with faith and courage, keep off the pests with singing of holy names and company of the holy, so that you benefit in the end. Start on this path of acquiring wisdom and Grace, peace and everything you need will be added unto you.

- Divine Discourse, May16, 1964.

There is no weapon in this world more effective than patience. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 9th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

What should you offer the Lord?  And why?  Swami explains very clearly today.

Did you read the section
“ ”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 9th February 2009

You must offer the Lord not the flowers that plants grow; they will reward the plant, not you.  The Lord wants you to offer the lotus that blooms in the Lake of your Heart, the fruit that ripens on the tree of your earthly career, not the lotus and the fruit available in the market place.  You may ask, "Where can we find the Lord?"  Well, He gives you His address.  He says "I reside in the heart of all beings." Knowing that, how can you look down on any being in contempt or how can you revel in hating or indulge in the pastime of ridiculing?  Every individual is charged with the Divine Presence, moved by the Divine attributes.  Love, honor, friendliness, that is what each one deserves from you.  Give these in full measure.

-Divine Discourse, Vol 4, Ch 17, Apr16, 1964.

Let no one suffer the slightest pain as a result of your thought, word or deed.  Let this be your spiritual practice. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 8th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

How can we identify our inner enemies when they manifest in us?  How do we escape from their clutches?  Swami teaches us today.

Did you read the section
“Conversations With Sai”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 8th February 2009

The temptation to ignore Dharma grows from egoism and the acceptance of false values.  The wish to satisfy the lower desire is the root of unrighteousness.  That wish takes hold of you slyly, silently, like a thief in the night; or like a comrade to come and save you, or like a servant to come to attend on you, or like a counselor to come and warn you.  Oh, wickedness has a thousand tricks to capture your heart.  You must be ever alert against this temptation.  To escape from this, you must examine every moment of your waking time whether you are observing the precepts of Dharma (Righteousness).

-Divine Discourse, Vol 4, Ch 16, Apr 15, 1964.

Practice to see the hand of God in everything that happens.  Then you will never exult or grieve over anything. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 7th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

What is the code of conduct applicable to all creations in the universe?  What should we treasure?  Swami enlightens us today.

Did you read the section
“Broadcasting Love”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 7th February 2009

Every single thing in nature has its code of conduct (Dharma).  Water has its nature and obligation to move; fire the Dharma to burn and consume; the magnet to attract and draw unto itself.  And every one of these, is keeping their code of conduct unchanged, including the stars of the firmament.  The proper code of conduct is "Sathyam Vadha; Dharmam Chara" (Speak the truth and practice righteousness).  You must fill every moment of your life, all of your thoughts, words and deeds, reflecting your awareness of Dharma.  That type of living is the hallmark of good character.

-Divine Discourse, Vol 4, Ch 16, Apr15, 1964.

Character is the most precious jewel that you must wear. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 6th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

What is the purpose of calamities and difficulties on the spiritual path? How can one overcome them?  Swami guides us today.

Did you read the article
“Enthralling Reminiscences of the Days of Yore, Part 2”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 6th February 2009

Let not your faith and steadiness be shaken by obstacles.  Keep them unaffected by the still greater difficulties and disasters that might blow over you.  The gale helps to toughen the trunk of the tree.  Calamities must deepen your courage, enlarge your faith.  Your spiritual practise must be intensified, just when the weather is inclement.  In a fair weather, care-free attitude is pardonable, but in foul weather, every precaution is of value.

-Divine Discourse, Vol 4, Ch 15, Apr 13, 1964.

Welcome problems and suffering, for they teach you the lessons of humility and reverence. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 5th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

What is the true quality of a pure soul?  What should we do to assess our individual responses to situations and improve ourselves?  Swami gives us the yardsticks for us to learn and grow today.

Did you read the section
“From the Joy of Symphony to the Bliss of Sai”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 5th February 2009

The joy that one gets while promoting another's joy is incomparable.  Only the blind will be indifferent to the dismal condition of others; only the deaf will be unaffected by the sobs of others.  Your heart must melt in compassion when the eye sees another person suffering.  That is the sign of the pure or noble (Satwik) individual.  The ignorant (Tamasik) individual will be dull, bovine and indifferent to the hardships of others.  The passionate (Rajasik) man will rush to punsih the person who caused the suffering and might even forget to relieve the misery of the person affected.  Remember that there are no others.  You are all living cells in the body of God.

-Divine Discourse, Apr 1, 1975.

Choose God as your Leader and Guide.  He will help you at all times. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 4th February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.
Prasanthi Bulletin has been updated till 3 February 2009.

Why should we dedicate all our actions to the Divine?  What are the pitfalls, if we fail to do so?  Swami explains it to us today.

Did you read the article,
“Powerful Reminiscences of His Presence”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 4th February 2009

Desires, when fulfilled, breed further desires and when unfulfilled, lead to further installments of life on earth, in order to calm the urge.  The only method by which the delusion of desire can  be destroyed is to dedicate all activities to God and engage in them in a spirit of worship, leaving the consequences to Him and ceasing to attach yourselves to them.  Look upon everyone as embodiments of Divine Love and worship each, as such, by offering love, understanding and service.  Always remember that you are all "living cells" in the body of God, each performing its individual functions to promote His will.

-Divine Discourse, Vol 13, Ch 8, Apr 1, 1975.

Do your work with devotion as an act of worship. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 3rd February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

What are the important practical lessons that we must do to continue the spiritual journey?  What can we learn from the children?  Swami clarifies today.

Have you read the Cover Story,
"The Scintillating Story of
His Spendour ”
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 3rd February 2009

You must lead exemplary lives of simplicity, sincerity and steady spiritual discipline.  Learn the lessons of duty, devotion and discipline.  Be a ray of sunshine in the home, shedding light and love.  Let the desire to serve others and people with physical challenges be an inspiration to you.  Children do not say one thing and do the opposite.  They are very straightforward and innocent.  Imbibe this nature, now on from them.

-Divine Discourse, Vol 13, Mar31, 1975.

If you have the inclination to do good work, God will give you the time to do good things. - Baba

Sai Inspires - 2nd February 2009 from Prashanti Nilayam

Dear Reader,
Loving Sairam from the Heart2Heart team.

Why should we always be united in purpose?  Swami teaches us with a memorable example today.

Did you read the
Cover Story
in the Feb issue of H2H?

Sai Inspires - 2nd February 2009

Once the five fingers of a hand argued among themselves as to which finger was greatest. The middle finger argued with ego, "I am taller than all of you.  There are two body guards on either side of me; I am greatest."  The index finger said, "You can do any work, only if I show you to do that work.  Otherwise, you cannot.  So I am greatest.  The small finger intervened and said, "Though I am small in size, I stand in the front as the Commander-in-Chief to punish any individual or teach him a lesson.  Therefore I am greatest."  Thereupon the ring finger laughed and said, "People wear diamond and gem studded rings on the ring finger only.  Hence I am the king of all."  Finally, after hearing all the arguments the thumb laughed aloud and wound up that discussion and said, "None of you can  undertake any work without me.  Therefore, let us all get together and work.  We cannot do any work with one finger.  When all the five fingers of the hand join together, we can do any work."  Similarly, if people are divided, no work can be executed.  Unity is very important.

-Divine Discourse, Nov 23, 2008.

"Unity is Divinity, Purity is enlightenment.  Let us live together and experience the gift of things together "- Baba
