People generally think that giving up family life, property, land and other forms of wealth is thyaga (sacrifice). But that is not sacrifice at all; in fact, running away in this manner is easy. What is required is sacrificing one's desires; that is real sacrifice! You must realize the purpose of human life. We are not born merely to eat, drink and make merry. Human birth is for helping our fellow human beings. We should not cause harm to anybody. We should not speak harsh words. We must always follow the motto: “Help ever, Hurt never”. - Divine Discourse, Aug 9, 2006.
